Thanks to the Quad-core A53 CPU running Android 10, 4Gb of RAM, and the very high 6k output resolution. So, In this review, we will walk you through all the pros and cons of this device for you to make up your mind about getting one.

Design:
The OMIKAI K1 TV Box is a Black box made of plastic but doesn’t look cheap, a cube of shape with curved sides. On top it has an acrylic panel with a beautiful design indicating where to place your Smartphone for wireless charging, on the front side there is the RGB Android logo and K1 logo.
Has one side is empty and the other is dedicated to the power connector, optical input for audio, HDMI 2.0 video output port that allows up to 6k 30fps, and a Gigabyte LAN port.
The backside there is 1-USB 3.0 and 1-USB 2.0 and one memory card slot for storage expansion so you never run out of storage.
On the bottom side, there are the vents for the built-in fan which turns on and off automatically to keep the device running on a cool temperature, with one downside of it being a bit loud at around 46db which is moderate and could be an inconvenience for some users. At the very bottom of the box, we find 4 rubber feet to ensure the device’s stability.
Under the hood:
The OMIKAI K1 comes with an ARM-based processor which is the ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-core with 1.5GHZ, power-efficient 64-bit processing that gives decent performance especially while just browsing or watching at a high resolution, it also comes with Mali-G31 GPU which is also capable of running games at medium to low settings, and streaming videos up to 6k 30fps, but all this would have not been possible without the DDR3 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is not great by 2020 standards but is at least expandable up to 128gb thanks to the TF card slot.
Connectivity-wise, this device has 2.4Ghz/5Ghz dual-band WIFI IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac which can upload up to 206Mb/s and download up to 235Mb/s, in addition to Bluetooth 5.0 which gives you a longer and stable transmission range for TV connectivity with any accessory such as a wireless gamepad or even a mouse and keyboard.

Software:
OMIKAI K1 is a rooted device and has Custom Google Pixel software, And it comes with a simple and beautiful UI and with a dark theme and the possibility of changing the background, also has pre-installed apps you are going to need such as the browser, media player, Youtube, etc. And displays wireless charging info when in use it.
Supports Google services and allows you to install any app that is available in the play store or in a third party store, it also supports screen mirroring for both IOS and Android devices.
OMIKAI K1 Performance:
Streaming:
The OMIKAI K1 is capable of streaming 4K videos at 30fps only, which is great video quality and the best quality you can get with lots of details.
In practicality, it is not possible to watch paid services like Netflix and amazon prime in 4k since TV Boxes don’t fall into one of these three device categories: Streaming media players, Smartphones and tablets, and android TVs. This means it don’t have the DRM support required to stream HD or 4K from Netflix or other streaming services. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy Netflix and all other streaming services at a smooth 480p.
Even though playing 4k video 60fps from a local file is possible and smooth, streaming a Youtube video at 4K 60fps isn’t going to be quiet a smooth experience as it’s tested and confirmed that it lags and completely freezes while streaming such high resolution, This is why the highest quality you can play in YouTube is 4K at 30 frames, which is fine and of course 1080p quality will give you the best experience, Also IPTV is working smoothly.
Gaming:
Gaming on this kind of devices isn’t going to be the best gaming experience since they tend to use power-efficient CPUs, and the graphics rendering isn’t the smoothest out there, you are still going to be able to play games that don’t require strong hardware.
It is worth to mention that pushing the system to its limits is going to generate extra heat, which would usually decrease the performance of the device, but not with the OMIKAI K1, thanks to the cooling system in the bottom, it reduces the heat and maintains performance to some extent. But always keep in mind not to push the system too hard not to shorten its lifespan.
OTA (Online Upgrade):
This device supports system update if a new upgrade or minor security or bug fix is available.
How to update:
- Connect to the Internet via WI-FI or Ethernet.
- Head to system settings
- Click About
- click on System update
- And click Update if it is available
- the device will download, install updates and restart.
Extra features:
Wireless charging, a wide range of charging and high charging efficiency:
This unusual Android TV Box comes with an unusual feature for a TV Box which is the 10W wireless charging with up 75% of efficiency, and a wide area of 10mm*10mm so you put your smartphone anyhow and it will fit in the charging area and start charging immediately. In the menu, you can check wireless charging information such as temperature, power, and status while in use.
But this feature is unfortunately not perfect since the TV Box is going to be near the TV and away from the bed, which is a bummer since we like to keep our smartphones close even when charging them, but it must not be a deal breaker for most users.
OMIKAI K1 Google Voice Control:
The remote controller has a built-in microphone for voice assistance, all you have got to do is press and hold the button with the microphone symbol to activate Google voice search, and ask it to perform an action for you such: “Open Netflix” or “What is the weather today”.
Also, the remote control may serve as an air mouse for easier navigation through the homepage and the rest of the pages.
