AGM has unveiled the second generation of its flagship Glory line, which debuted a year and a half ago. Three smartphones from the G2 series were launched, namely AGM G2, G2 Pro, and G2 Guardian, which differ only in RAM capacity and thermal camera. The most prominent of these models is the G2 Guardian which comes with 12GB of RAM, Qualcomm QCM6490 chipset and a 7000mAh battery. The main selling point of this model is the presence of a dedicated thermal sensor that can detect heat signals up to 500 meters away, even through smoke, or darkness.

The screen in the G2 Guardian is a 6.58-inch Full HD + IPS panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and reinforced corners to mitigate the impact of a fall. The back design offers an appearance with oriental eyes and in their center the main imaging sensor, while in the front there is a water notch, with a very prominent chin.

IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H certifications are also available, to make it suitable for water resistance, even against splashing water at high pressure and temperature. It has passed severe military resistance tests, so that it is suitable to withstand strong changes in temperature and humidity, falling on hard surfaces from heights of up to one and a half meters, difficult environments, high pressure and temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, etc.

As for the chipset, the choice is extraordinary, the CPU comes from Qualcomm QCM6490 SoC at 2.7GHz, announced in 2021 and officially considered a chip for the “Internet of Things”. There are no performance stats about it yet. But judging by the characteristics, it is slightly more powerful than the well-known Snapdragon 778G. So in AnTuTu you can expect half a million points. It works in conjunction with the Adreno 643 GPU and has 8 or 12 GB of RAM, while the storage capacity is UFS 2.2 256 GB, expandable via microSD with a capacity of 512 GB. It is expected that all of this will be run through the semi-raw Android 12 system.

For optics, you get four lenses on the back; 108MP main camera, 20MP night sensor, 2MP macro lens, and a fourth InfiRay ELF3 thermal image sensor. For selfies, the 32MP sensor is used on the front.
Now let’s talk about the thermal sensor that distinguishes the G2 Guardian. It is a thermal imager, unique to the smartphone market, with a very narrow viewing angle (17.5 x 13.2 degrees), which is almost the same as 4.5x optical zoom. Thanks to this, a target 182 cm high can be detected from a distance of up to 500 meters.

Connectivity features include GPS (Glonass, dual frequency), 3.5mm mini jack, NFC, Wi-Fi 6/6E, 5G, and Bluetooth 5.2 and it supports dual SIM 5G. It comes with a fingerprint scanner on the side. On the audio side, there is a very powerful tweeter that reaches 109dB, which is useful for hearing in noisy environments and for picking up a remote SOS.
The Guardian G2 is powered by the same 7,000mAh battery, which features 18W wired fast charging with 10W wireless charging.

The AGM G2 Guardian will cost $899 up to $999 in official website. Depending on the configuration, the most expensive one gets 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB.
