The KiiBOOM brand that until now has been focusing on products such as DIY mechanical keyboards mainly and related tools, as it was the first use of its devices last November and we were impressed by the quality of its Phantom 81 keyboard. But recently it is expanding in selling IEM earphone products, It released two products, KiiBOOM Allure and Evoke.
And both products came in handy this time, so I would like to present this time the “KiiBOOM Allure” earphone (Evoke review coming soon, keep coming), which is equipped with a “DLC polymer diaphragm dynamic driver coated with three layers of beryllium” with an impedance of 18 ohms and sensitivity 112 dB, which makes it possible to use it for music and games, and most importantly, it is offered at a relatively affordable price of $99, which can be said to be an attractive model with a small in-ear design. So can KiiBOOM deliver the same quality and exclusivity that we knew from Phantom 81 with its first pair of earphones? This is what we will discover in this review.

Unboxing

Allure comes in sturdy cardboard packaging which is a fairly large light green box with a pictogram of the earbuds on the front and technical info on the back – there’s also a cartoon on the back that fits in perfectly with the brand image.

Open the box to the top and you will find a large size leather travel case, the content is very simple, the earphone body is connected with a 0.78mm thick, twisted, fabric-braided 2-pin cable and there are six silicone tips in sizes S / M / L so choose the best size for the earphones And attach it yourself. It’s very simple packaging but it catches your eye which is a good thing. So yes they made the same excellent first impression I had with the Phantom 81.

Design And Build Quality

KiiBOOM Allure is designed with the goal of perfect sound quality in every component of the dynamic driver, such as the magnet, diaphragm, and inner cavity structure. As a result, the wide sound field and high frequencies are tuned for a detailed, natural sound while at the same time achieving the tuning that provides comfort for everyday listening while maintaining fidelity.

The main body is a CNC-machined matte aluminum metal shell that fits easily in the ear. The resin-coated faceplate on the green slate has a unique pattern like natural stone that makes it stand out slightly and is impressive at the same time. It also has a smooth visual connection and the structure of aluminum. The size and design fit well in the ear with the stem measuring around 5.2mm in length, roughly the same as a fully wireless earphone with a slight indentation in the belly area for an in-ear fit making it easier to wear. The connector is a 2-pin specification and is a flat specification without embedding. Additionally, the “KiiBOOM Allure” drive is a “tri-layer beryllium-coated DLC polymer diaphragm structure”. This is a nice touch for an IEM at this price and is usually reserved for more expensive IEMs.

This is because beryllium is a form of metallic coating, strong yet light, and often used on dynamic speakers and headphones to increase their hardness. This, in turn, allows the drivers to move more quickly, provides a quick response speed, and delivers more impactful bass than other drivers with better detail and clarity throughout the upper registers. And if this indicates anything, it is an indication of the company’s focus on providing value for every dollar you pay.

The buds connect to the cable using a standard 2-pin, cloth-covered connection and are tightly woven with 4-core wires that are easy to use and easy to swap out with a dedicated cable and repair if ever damaged. Ear well feels sturdy and well-built but tends to get tangled a little easier. , but it’s not bad and feels fairly premium for the price.

The build quality sounds so impressive, KiiBOOM has spent some time on their first IEMs to ensure that their quality is above and beyond what is expected for their price and is aesthetically pleasing. In terms of comfort and fit, the cable is soft and the cases are well-shaped, resulting in a comfortable fit. The tips are easy to find and fit in an ear canal, and once inserted they are secure and comfortable making them a perfect fit. Allure is easy to wear for extended periods of time. But the insulation is a bit worse than usual, with two holes in the cases which do a little bit to the insulation, but I found them perfect for general day-to-day use.

Sound Quality & Performance

KiiBOOM Allure has solidity and good separating properties thanks to the beryllium coating of three separate layers to strengthen the diaphragm and for a sense of speed with impartiality and perfect balance, it is particularly compatible with high-tempo songs, you can fully enjoy the strong effect of the beryllium diaphragm, so the overall impression is that it is a little low, But the core performance is very high, and the high sense of separation and high precision stand out. You’ll immediately notice the enhanced audio fidelity that delivers unique Hi-Fi high-fidelity sound that can’t be heard with other earphones. So I can say that it is aimed at a wider range of people who want a coherent high-quality sound and at the same time stay away from low-priced Chinese earphones.

The Allure dynamic driver has a slight bass boost and a good amount of gain around 2kHz to add breadth to the sound. The highs are smoothed out and the highs are fairly smooth with just a bit of sparkle. It’s a fun set that will work well with many different types of music.
The high frequencies of “KiiBOOM Allure” produce sounds that are easy to hear while maintaining a sense of speed. But the balance is a bit restrictive, so you might want a little more sparkle and clarity in the high frequencies, but they’re easy to listen to. It is also fatigue-free and there is no unwanted beeping either. It lacks some sparkle or detail, and there is a little dip in the bottom layer that maybe robs a little energy overall, but moving up the range there is good presence and sparkle, and it rolls nicely and smoothly. The balance and tone are just right to be smooth but without sacrificing fine details.

KiiBOOM Allure Review

KiiBOOM Allure has a very neutral and natural mid-range sound, with a good vocal range. In other words, the sound has high fidelity, has a sense of speed, but at the same time, the sound level is medium to slightly wide, with relatively subtle localization. It allows vocals and guitars to penetrate clearly where electric guitars have good power, acoustics have a realistic tone, and both male and female vocals are rendered accurately with plenty of detail but no sibilance. So the separation of the instruments is great – the engines are very responsive and never lose track of any part of the mix, no matter how fast or complex it gets.

In the lows, The Allure has a warm, slightly flattering low end that gives the sound a natural ambiance. The bass area is well-controlled and the driver is responsive, it never sounds slow, and it handles most genres with ease. Its easy and balanced nature means it will be enjoyable for many listeners. The quality is also impressive, especially for its price, there’s a bass feel to it, and it’s crisp and accurate too. However, this lower range is well suited for listening to music in many genres.

The more responsive diaphragm provides more bass effect and three-dimensional detail, and even if there are many voices, it is almost impossible to get stuck. As with higher frequencies, the impression changes depending on the difference in driving force. So yes, the technical performance is good for the price, and compared to earphones in the slightly higher price range, it seems to be lacking in details, which is appropriate for the price.

With an impedance of 18Ω, it requires less power, so you can enjoy it even if you plug it directly into your smartphone, but I feel it lacks power, so it’s better to have a DAC.

Final Verdict

The KiiBOOM Allure was an earphone with an excellent appearance and build quality with excellent acoustic specifications of a rather exciting, deep, and natural sound with a very neutral impression and easy to listen, it was very interesting to hear the unique sound through them, which seems to be a motorized earphone with a multi-layer coating Beryllium on a DLC polymer diaphragm, with features often seen in headphones of the same type, such as clear and precise separation, and low range that gives a solid feel, makes it have a lot of potentials. So I will comfortably say that the KiiBOOM Allure is a technically competent, sonically pleasing wired earphone that I can easily recommend to anyone under $100. Going forward, I think there is room for KiiBOOM to grow and compete in a very crowded market at this price point.
