Charging Case and Earbuds Style

Let’s start by taking a look at the charging case. The Lenovo LP17 comes with a compact and stylish charging case that boasts a square shape with rounded corners and curved surfaces. Made primarily of durable ABS plastic, the case features a glossy finish that adds to its visual appeal. However, it’s worth noting that this glossy surface is prone to fingerprints and scratches. Lenovo offers this case in various attractive colors, including classic black, pristine white, and eye-catching cyan. But perhaps the most charming detail is the circle on the case, which resembles a bear’s face – a playful touch that sets it apart.

Despite its elegant design, the Lenovo LP17 charging case remains small and easy to handle. Its lid closes securely, protecting the earphones from external elements. At the bottom, you’ll find a USB-C port for charging, while an LED dot under the lid’s crest provides battery status information. Lenovo’s “Thinkplus” logo takes center stage on the left side, and you’ll spot another “Lenovo” logo on the back.

While the charging case is primarily constructed from plastic, it’s durable and built to last. Its compact size makes it highly portable, although specific measurements and weight details are not available in the product documentation.

Moving on to the earphones themselves, the Lenovo LP17 adopts a classic in-ear style. They feature a short stem with the Lenovo logo at the bottom. Like the charging case, the earphones also feature a glossy finish that complements the overall theme. Lenovo claims that these earphones are small and comfortable, designed to fit snugly in your ears. While we don’t have the exact dimensions and weight, their in-ear style is reminiscent of the AirPods 3, with standard-sized nozzles that should fit most users.

What sets the LP17 apart is its touch control functionality, allowing users to manage media playback, calls, and volume adjustment with ease. However, the touch control area is located near the bottom of the stem, which may require the use of both fingers to avoid dislodging the earphones during control operations. Notably, the earphones lack LED light indicators but come equipped with charging pins at the bottom of the stem for easy charging.

Connectivity and Bluetooth Calling

The Lenovo LP17 is equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.3 chip, ensuring fast and stable connectivity with support for automatic pairing. This means you can expect a hassle-free experience when connecting to your devices. The LP17 is compatible with various Bluetooth versions and modern operating systems, making it versatile for use with a wide range of devices.

When it comes to connectivity range, the LP17 offers a solid connection within a range of 10 to 15 meters, depending on any obstacles that may be between your devices. The Bluetooth 5.3 chip plays a pivotal role in optimizing power consumption, which ultimately enhances the earphones’ overall efficiency.

In terms of call quality, the Lenovo LP17 features a single microphone on each earpiece, promising clear and reliable sound transmission. With Bluetooth calling support and intuitive touch controls, handling calls through the earphones should be a breeze. While we anticipate good call quality in most scenarios, the true test will be in real-world usage.

Content Consumption and Gaming

For those who enjoy content consumption and gaming on the go, the Lenovo LP17 packs a 13mm driver capable of delivering sound across a wide frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz. Lenovo highlights a focus on bass in its sound profile description, suggesting a tuning that prioritizes low frequencies. However, it’s important to reserve judgment on sound quality until hands-on testing can confirm its performance.

One promising feature is the LP17’s support for the AAC audio codec, which can enhance sound quality, particularly for users of compatible devices.

Gaming enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Lenovo LP17 offers a low-latency gaming mode. While this mode can significantly reduce audio delay for an improved gaming experience, it’s important to note that it may not be suitable for competitive gaming, which demands the lowest possible latency. For those seeking dedicated gaming earphones, alternatives like the Baseus AeQur G10 and Lenovo GM2 Pro might be worth exploring.

Lenovo LP17 – Battery Life and Charging

The Lenovo LP17 comes equipped with a 250mAh battery in its charging case, while each earbud houses a smaller 25mAh battery. On a single charge, the earbuds are expected to provide around 4 hours of playback at 70% volume. However, the charging case can recharge the earbuds up to five times, resulting in a total playback time of up to 20 hours before needing to recharge the case.

Recharging the case itself is a straightforward process via the USB Type-C port located at the bottom of the case. With the included charging cable, you can fully charge the case in approximately 2 hours. Placing the earbuds in their designated spots inside the case initiates the earbuds’ charging process.

The implementation of USB Type-C at this price point is a welcome feature, promoting both convenience and compatibility.

With Bluetooth 5.3, extended battery life, a low-latency gaming mode, and a lightweight and comfortable design, these earphones offer great value for their relatively low price point.
