Design And Build Quality

Charging Case

The charging case of the Lenovo XT62 is special and not much different from the Baseus WM02, it is one of the tiniest on the market and looks cute honestly, it has a capsule-like design since it is a box with a square base of 44mm and a height of 35mm with a lid having a curved transparent panel with the ThinkPlus logo, it allows you to see the earbud sitting in their compartments without the need to open it up, the whole case is made out of plastic with a matt finish and is available in four colors, black, white, pink and purple, and even though the matt finish may not look as pretty as the glossy one, it certainly keeps a new look for longer since it doesn’t get scratches that easily and it doesn’t leave fingerprints behind.

Lenovo XT62 Review - Unique Design with Bluetooth 5.3 & Low Latency

On the front, we can see the LED dot indicator for the battery as well as a small cut that makes it easy to lift the lid, from the two sides we find nothing and from the back we have the USB C charging port, fortunately for us the XT62 Bluetooth earphones have a square base so they can stand on a table, as for the lid, its held magnetically to the rest of the body, the magnets are strong enough that it doesn’t open on its own even if you shake it hard, but you can easily open it up with one hand.

Overall, I like the ergonomics of this charging case, it’s small, lightweight and has a comfortable grip, and can easily be slid inside your pocket to take it with you wherever you go hustle free, in addition to the beautiful minimalistic look of it.

The Earbuds

Looking at the design, The feel of the Lenovo XT62 Wireless Headphone is excellent and these are well-made with a compact ‘in-ear’ in terms of width at least they are much smaller than others on the market.

Design in a matte black finish with a matt finish, but on top, it has a glossy panel where we find the LED light indicator for connectivity and pairing and the Lenovo logo features a touch panel. Most importantly the body is Lightweight at only about 4g to be comfortable on the ear while on the move with the help of the soft rubber ear bands made of silicone with round pressure relief holes inside the earphone, which can balance the internal and external air pressure and ventilation and come with a small rubber ear fin that could help them stay tighter in your ears. I find the XT62 comfortable to wear and the fit feels secure and has a perfect shape; It is ergonomically designed to passively block out background noise and distractions.

Besides the touch control, there is a magnetic charging connector and microphones, which are responsible for reducing ambient noise for good and clear sound reception during calls and accurately distinguishing between human voice and noise.

Lenovo XT62 Touch Control

To control the Lenovo XT62, there is a high-precision touch control panel on the top of the earbud that can achieve precise control with responsive touch sensitivity that’s big enough that you don’t have to use your fingers very precisely to get things done. The earbuds don’t use the Haylou app – all functions are handled by long-pressing or tapping on the earbuds like playing, pausing, skipping tracks, taking calls, rejecting calls, and more.

Lenovo XT62 Waterproof

Even though the XT62 doesn’t have an official waterproof certification, it has been tested that light sweat droplets won’t hurt it which will allow you to practice sports freely without worrying about damaging it, especially since it sticks very well to the ear and doesn’t budge no matter how hard you shake them. That being said, we strongly advise keeping these earphones from water sources as much as possible because they aren’t waterproof.

How to Pair Lenovo XT62 With Your Device

Lenovo XT62 offers strong compatibility with both IOS and Android devices with quick and easy pairing thanks to adopting a premium chipset that uses Bluetooth 5.3 for stable and powerful transmission, lower delay, and smoother connection for high sound quality. and supports the most popular audio decoding for SBC and AAC. Unfortunately, there is no aptX Adaptive codec, However, this is to be expected in this price category. And you can enjoy music up to 10m long even with thin walls between you and your device.

However, pairing in ThinkPlus XT62 is the same as any wireless earbuds, quick and easy all you have to do is open the charging case and take them out and they will automatically turn on and enter the pairing state. Immediately after that, open the Bluetooth interface of the smartphone, the “Lenovo ThinkPlus XT62” earphone will automatically be recognized, click it, and the pairing is completed successfully. Pairing is done manually once, after which it’s automatic and fast with Bluetooth enabled, just remove it from the box and use it. You can also choose to connect only one earphone at a time without any problem.

Lenovo XT62 – Sound Quality

The audio quality must be one of the strongest points for the Lenovo XT62 this year, it provides the experience you would expect from a more pricey device, thanks to the 8mm dynamic drivers inside the headphones combined with the new Bluetooth 5.3, the sound quality presented here is unmatched by other devices of the same price range, with a high-resolution HIFI HD sound quality and improved clarity and bass, in addition to AAC and SBC audio decoding technologies which allow you to immerse perfectly in the sounds, the low bass accent surround sound grants you the feel of every detail for perfect audio quality.

It is worth noting that even though I liked the sound quality, I still noticed that when the volume is very high you can hear a tiny little bit of unpleasant distortion, which is very normal for cheap earphones and I would say that it won’t bother you since it is loud and clear anyway without the need to put the volume all the way up.

Microphone Quality & Bluetooth Calling

The microphone quality on Lenovo XT62 is acceptable at best, in quiet environments, you will be able to pass and receive calls with no problems at all and the quality is good the other end will be able to understand you with no issues even though it still has that fishbowl sound effect, although when you go outside, that’s when you will start finding issues with the microphones, in slightly noisy environments such as a cafe, for example, your voice will start to have annoying distortion and the background noise will interfere with your voice, still, you will be perfectly understandable, but once you go into a very complex environment such as a crowded street, its almost impossible to pass calls using the XT62.

Low-Latency & Gaming

Lenovo XT62 is well suited for gaming in my opinion, especially on smartphones, at this low price point we don’t expect much, but offers a very low latency of about 60ms, which means that you will not notice any lag between the video and audio for example when you watch Netflix or youtube, the lip-synching is perfect and you won’t be alarmed by any delays, and even in online games such as PUBG or COD, the delay is so minimal that you can’t notice it at all unless you pay extra attention, this means that for a regular mobile gamer and even pc gamers, this tiny bit of lag won’t be an issue at all.

Lenovo XT62 – Battery And Charging Time

The Lenovo XT62 offers great autonomy overall, and it has one of the longest-lasting batteries in all of the wireless earphones that we have reviewed, starting with the charging case, it has an integrated battery with a capacity of 300mah can charge the earbuds up to 3 times giving a total usage time of around 25 hours.

Charging using the USB-C cable included in the box in about 1.5 hours with the LED dot on the case blinking indicating charging, as for the earbuds, they have got a battery of 40mah of capacity each, at 70% volume they last with you up to 4 hours of continuous usage thanks to the efficiency of the new Bluetooth 5.3 chip that consumes less battery than the previous generation and delivers better audio, this will allow you a great autonomy, you don’t have to ever worry about your battery dying out mid-day, enjoy your music and calls freely, these headphones will be your companions for the longest duration possible. Also, you can charge them up to 100% in less than 70 minutes.

Final verdict

In my opinion, I feel like this device combines features from multiple wireless headphone models offered by Lenovo and tops everything with a huge battery for a very affordable price, for that I would recommend it to people who simply want to enjoy their podcast on the way to work or wanna watch a youtube video, especially if you like silicone earplugs, Also, the features of this product were amazing, it has so much to offer from the sound quality the microphone, low latency, and the seamless pairing experience not to forget the long duration of the battery and the very accurate touch control that almost never misses, for a price that puts it in the budget category, thus, I definitely recommend it over any other budget wireless headphones.

  1. It doesn’t seem to connect on AAC on any smartphones. Have you really tested it?
Also, the mic is unusable. People can’t understand me at all. In this regard, XT62 is worse than other Lenovo TWS.
