Black Friday sales are finally live, and the flood of emails and ads can feel overwhelming. Scrolling through endless pages of discounted tech often leads to decision paralysis, especially when you are trying to stick to a budget without buying a potato. I’ve dug through the chaos to find machines that are actually worth your money this year.
I wanted to make sure this list was strictly budget-friendly, so everything here is under the $700 mark. I also made a point to weed out the older specs that just don’t cut it in 2025, like the RTX 3050 or 2050 laptops. You deserve better performance for your cash, so these picks focus on modern hardware that can actually handle today’s games. Here are the top contenders I’ve found.
1. Acer Nitro V 16
- Price: $629.00
- Main feature: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB VRAM
- Why it stands out: It packs the newer 50-series graphics card for a very low price.
Acer has consistently been a go-to for budget gamers, and the Nitro V 16 continues that legacy. This model comes with a 16-inch, 1200p IPS display that boasts an impressive 180Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, you’re looking at an AMD Ryzen 5 240 processor paired with the new RTX 5050. The real kicker here is the 8GB of VRAM on that GPU, which is a significant step up for longevity compared to older budget cards. With 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, this is a fantastic entry point into modern gaming without breaking the bank.
2. Gigabyte Gaming A16
- Price: $599.99
- Main feature: Intel Core i7-13620H Processor
- Why it stands out: You get an i7 CPU for under $600.
Finding an i7 processor in a sub-$600 laptop is rare, which makes this Gigabyte model a serious contender. It features a 16-inch 1200p display with a 165Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for fast-paced titles. It is powered by the RTX 4050 with 6GB of VRAM. While the VRAM is lower than the Nitro above, the price difference and the strong CPU performance make it a very attractive option. It’s a sleek machine that gives you plenty of processing power for both work and play.
3. MSI Thin 15 (Intel Core i5)
- Price: $644.99
- Main feature: Lightweight, portable design
- Why it stands out: A great choice if you need something easier to carry around.
MSI and Gigabyte are trading blows in this price bracket, and the Thin 15 is MSI’s answer. It sports a standard 15.6-inch 144Hz display and runs on an Intel Core i5-13420H alongside the RTX 4050. The specs are very similar to the Gigabyte A16, so your decision here really comes down to brand preference and chassis design. If you prefer the look and feel of MSI laptops, this is a solid, evenly matched alternative that fits right into the budget sweet spot.
4. HP Victus 15.6″ (Intel Version)
- Price: $599.00
- Main feature: Reliable entry-level build
- Why it stands out: A trending favorite for those who want a mainstream brand.
You will see this laptop popping up everywhere during Black Friday. The HP Victus is a staple in the entry-level market. This configuration matches the MSI with an i5-13420H and an RTX 4050. It’s a no-nonsense machine that delivers exactly what you expect for the price. If you want a laptop from a household name that handles 1080p gaming competently, this $599 deal is hard to ignore.
5. ASUS TUF Gaming A16
- Price: $599.00
- Main feature: AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS Processor
- Why it stands out: The rugged “TUF” reliability combined with Ryzen 7 power.
I have always been a fan of the ASUS TUF series for their durability and value. This A16 model brings a 16-inch 144Hz screen and pairs it with a robust Ryzen 7 processor and the RTX 4050. Getting a Ryzen 7 chip at this price point is excellent value. It includes the standard 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage, making it a rugged workhorse capable of handling demanding tasks and long gaming sessions.
6. Lenovo LOQ 15.6″
- Price: $649.99
- Main feature: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 (8GB) & Professional Aesthetics
- Why it stands out: It doesn’t look like a flashy toy, making it perfect for school or work.
This is Lenovo’s entry-level gaming platform, sitting just below their Legion line. It features the Intel Core i5-13450HX and, notably, the new RTX 5050 with 8GB of VRAM. The “Luna Grey” design is understated and professional, unlike many aggressive gaming laptops. If you need a machine you can pull out in a lecture hall or a meeting without drawing attention to yourself—but still want to play current games at high settings later—this is the one to grab.
7. MSI Thin 15 (RTX 4060)
- Price: $679.99
- Main feature: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
- Why it stands out: The best raw graphical performance on this list.
Coming in near the top of our budget is a higher-tier configuration of the MSI Thin 15. The extra cash gets you an upgrade to the RTX 4060. Even though the 5050 is newer, the 4060 is a higher-class card that generally offers better raw performance. It also supports DLSS 3 and Frame Generation, which can triple your frame rates in supported games. If you can stretch your budget to $680, the performance jump is absolutely worth the investment.
8. HP Victus 15.6″ (All-AMD Edition)
- Price: $629.99
- Main feature: AMD Radeon RX 6550M Graphics
- Why it stands out: A unified AMD ecosystem for team red fans.
This list wouldn’t be complete without an all-AMD option. This version of the Victus swaps the internals for a Ryzen 5 7535HS and Radeon RX 6550M graphics. While the RTX 5050 and 4050 generally outperform this GPU, some users simply prefer the AMD architecture and driver ecosystem. It’s a capable machine, though I would personally lean toward the NVIDIA options this year unless you specifically require an AMD setup.
Summary
Buying a gaming laptop doesn’t mean you have to drain your savings account. These deals prove that you can get high refresh rate screens, modern processors, and capable graphics cards capable of playing the latest titles for well under $700. Just keep an eye on those VRAM numbers and pick the form factor that fits your lifestyle best.
I’d love to hear which one of these you are thinking about picking up, or if you’ve spotted an even better deal out in the wild. Drop a comment below and let me know what you’re buying this Black Friday!
