Lymow One Plus Review – The Ultimate Heavy-Duty Tracked Mower

Real lawns are rarely flat or perfectly manicured, posing a massive challenge to standard robotic mowers. My testing process involves pushing these machines to their absolute limits in my own backyard to see how they handle real-world stress. The Lymow One Plus robotic mower aims to solve these common terrain challenges using its unique track drive system and advanced dual rotary blades.

This second-generation robotic mower from Lymow introduces high-end features designed to tackle thick turf, steep hills, and complex obstacles. Pricing for this level of heavy-duty performance can fluctuate across online marketplaces like Amazon, making it important to weigh its capabilities against its cost. My hands-on analysis of this unit reveals how its premium engineering translates into dependable, autonomous lawn care.

Solid Aluminum Construction and Safe Deck Access

The physical build of this mower immediately distinguishes it from typical consumer-grade gadgets. Reinforced with a solid aluminum alloy frame, the machine feels like a serious piece of industrial equipment rather than a delicate toy. A robust emergency stop button sits on the top surface, accompanied by a continuous track drive system designed for maximum ground contact.

Checking the state of the blades is incredibly simple thanks to a clever automated deck-lifting mechanism. Holding down the plus sign on the control panel for three seconds prompts the front deck to raise itself. This allows users to inspect the cutting mechanism safely without having to lift the heavy machine or flip it upside down.

Looking closely at the deck reveals dual SK5 tool steel rotary blades that are razor-sharp and built to last. The combination of structural reinforcement and clever engineering demonstrates a clear focus on long-term durability. It is a highly practical design choice that shows Lymow understands the maintenance needs of real homeowners.

High-RPM Cutting Power on Dense St. Augustine Grass

Slicing through thick, dense turf such as St. Augustine grass requires substantial rotational power and sharp cutters. This mower utilizes dual rotary blades spinning up to 6,000 RPM, delivering a generous 16-inch cutting width. A built-in cyclone airflow system actively lifts flattened grass blades just before cutting, which ensures a highly consistent and even trim.

My testing on dense backyard turf showed that the motor handles thick patches with ease, leaving a perfectly level finish behind. Clippings are continuously directed through a single discharge port, preventing wet grass from building up inside the deck. The resulting cut is exceptionally clean, achieving the shortest trim my yard has ever experienced.

Adjusting the cutting deck height is fully supported within the mobile application, offering a range from 1.2 inches to 4 inches. Users can easily customize the cutting parameters to match the specific growth patterns of their grass type. This level of power and flexibility prevents the motor from bogging down when encountering overgrown areas.

Advanced App Customization and RTK Navigation

Setting up the navigation system begins with the installation of the included RTK antenna. This system relies on a clear view of the open sky to establish a highly precise satellite positioning lock across the yard. By combining RTK satellite tracking with VSLAM technology, the mower maintains a stable coordinate path without boundary wires.

Managing the mower is fully centralized within the smartphone app, which offers deep customization options. Users can establish up to 80 unique zones covering a massive total area of 15 acres. Blade speed, cutting height, schedule variations, and travel speed are all controlled with a few taps on the screen.

Autonomous operation starts seamlessly once the mapping phase is completed in the software. The mower follows highly disciplined, systematic paths rather than random wandering patterns. The sheer amount of control offered in the digital interface sets a new benchmark for robotic lawn maintenance.

Unmatched Traction on Steep Slopes via Track Drive

Slopes and wet banks are notorious for causing standard wheeled robotic mowers to slip, slide, or get stuck. The specialized track drive system on this model distributes the machine’s weight evenly to maximize surface contact. This design allows the unit to conquer steep inclines of up to 45 degrees safely.

Navigating a 20-degree incline in my backyard proved to be an effortless task for the continuous tracks. The rubber treads actively gripped the turf, climbing the slope without slipping or tearing up the grass. This level of traction ensures the mower maintains its designated route regardless of changing terrain levels.

Homeowners dealing with rolling hills or ditch banks will appreciate the stability provided by this low-slung, tracked chassis. It prevents the tipping issues common to top-heavy wheeled alternatives. The mechanical grip alone makes it an outstanding choice for complex landscape profiles.

Multi-Sensor Obstacle Avoidance and Terrain Clearance

Navigating around unexpected yard debris requires a reliable and fast-acting detection system. This mower utilizes a stereo AI vision system combined with five ultrasonic sensors and two hall sensors. This comprehensive sensory suite detects obstacles in real time, allowing the mower to navigate complex environments safely.

Testing the system with a basketball and a garden hose holder demonstrated its impressive pathfinding capabilities. The AI vision system detected the objects, reversed the mower, and carefully cut around them without making contact. This precise navigation keeps outdoor furniture, toys, and the machine itself safe from accidental damage.

Climbing over ground obstructions is another major strength of this robust floating-deck design. The mower climbed over a one-inch branch with ease, and then successfully scaled a brick measuring 2.8 inches tall. This extreme ground clearance prevents the unit from getting high-centered on roots or scattered garden debris.

Weatherproof Durability and LiFePO4 Battery Longevity

Outdoor machinery must withstand the elements, and this unit features a robust IPX6 waterproof rating. I tested this durability by spraying the active mower with a garden hose while it was cutting. The water had no effect on its operation, confirming that the machine can easily handle heavy rainstorms and quick washdowns.

Powering the system is a 528Wh LiFePO4 battery pack designed for long-term safety and performance. This battery chemistry is rated for over 2,000 charge cycles, ensuring years of daily service before capacity degrades. Low battery levels trigger an automatic return to the charging dock to replenish power.

Constructing the chassis from reinforced aluminum ensures the structural integrity remains intact over years of outdoor exposure. The combination of a highly durable battery and a weatherproof exterior makes this a highly resilient investment. It is built to endure the harsh realities of seasonal outdoor storage.

Final Thoughts — Price & Value

Investing in a high-end automated mower is a significant decision that depends heavily on the complexity of your property. The robust track system, high-torque dual blades, and advanced RTK-VSLAM navigation offer immense value for properties with tough grass and steep inclines. Eliminating the frustration of stuck machines and manual yard prep makes this a highly practical purchase for busy homeowners.

Setting the cutting speed and deck height slightly higher is recommended to maintain optimal lawn health and prevent stress on the grass. The outstanding combination of an aluminum frame and a long-lasting LiFePO4 battery ensures this unit will deliver reliable service for years. This machine represents a premier choice for anyone looking to fully automate their lawn care on challenging terrain.
